Pt. Privacy Policy

 Tentative Training Schedule for the 4th Quarter

 Monday, October 6th- Basic hose evolutions (drill will take place at Station 53).  Quarterly S.C.B.A training should also been done (throw packs for times, go over buddy breathing, skip breathing, etc.)

 Monday, October 13th- Size-ups/Incident Command (all stations meet at Station 51).  We will be leaving from the station, so please try to be punctual.

 Saturday, October 18th- Infectious Disease class.  This is a 6 to 8 hour class that is required as part of the continuous education requirements for E.M.T.’s and First Responders.  Fire only personnel are more than welcome to attend (OTEP).

 Monday, October 20th- Basic Pump Operations class with Chief Ray Merrill (Oak Harbor Fire).  This class will take place at Station 53 for all personnel.  This is a great opportunity for those that haven’t had much pump operation experience and a great refresher for those that have.

 Monday, October 27th- Basic Pump Operations class continued with Chief Ray Merrill (Oak harbor Fire).  This class will take place at Station 53 for all personnel.

 Monday, November 3rd- Vertical Ventilation.  All stations meet at Station 53 

 Monday, November 10th- C.P.R./Airway class.  This is a required as part of the continuous education requirements for E.M.T.’s and First Responders (OTEP).

 Saturday, November 15th- BLS Evaluator Course.  This class is only for the individuals that have signed up for the class.  Space was limited for this course. (This class will be held at Station 51)

 Monday, November 17th- Ropes and knots (drill will take place at your assigned station.  If you do not have sufficient personnel to train with, please tie in with another station.  Also, please have your issued gear with you.  Training will also consist of PPE inspections.

 Monday, November 24th- Station maintenance/fit testing.  Station maintenance at your assigned stations (Any personnel that have not yet been fit tested need to make arrangements to get to Station 53 to get this done).  Please make sure you have your protective equipment with you (mask included).

 Monday, December 1st- First Aid training

 Saturday, December 6th- True Colors.  This class will be held at Station 53.  I need to get a head count for this class, so please make sure you either e-mail me or call me in advance (let me know by November 17th).  This class will focus on helping you understand your individual strengths, weaknesses, preferred communication style, and improving communication skills.  Great information that is beneficial here in the district, other places of employment, or in your own family life.

 Monday, December 8th- Car fire training.  Stations 53 and 54 will train together at Station 54.  Stations 51 and 52 will train together at Station 53.  The duty crew will attend the training at Station 53

 Officer’s Training

 Wednesday, September 24th- Meeting scheduled for 7:00p.m. at Station 51

 Saturday, October 25th- Meeting scheduled for 8:00a.m. at the Tyee Restaurant

 Wednesday, November 12th- Meeting scheduled for 7:00p.m. at Station 51

 Wednesday, November 17th- Meeting scheduled for 7:00p.m. at Station 51

 Special Opportunity

 January 10th- Pt.’s needed for the E.M.T. course.  Interested individuals will be paid and points are available as well.

 November 15th-  Pt.’s needed for the BLS Evaluator course.  Interested individuals will be paid and points are available as well.

 Additional Information

We are currently attempting to schedule one or two more OTEP trainings before the end of 2008.  Instructors have not yet been located for these courses.  Once concrete arrangements have been made we will notify each of you in the weekly announcements.

 If you have not yet had EVAP training (or if you are aware of members that have not yet had EVAP) please let me know before October 30th.  I will be trying to schedule an EVAP training session before the end of the year for those individuals that have not yet had the class (I need a head count in order to accomplish this).
