Welcome from the Board of Fire Commissioners:

Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue is governed by a board of 3 commissioners elected to serve 6 years. These community members are responsible for defining the fire districts long term vision and for adopting policies to be implemented by administrative staff. They also actively participate in State and County associations to address issues that affect fire and emergency services.

Board of Fire Commissioner meetings are open to the public and are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM. They are held at District Headquarters located at 1164 Race Rd., Coupeville, WA. 98239

Paul Messner

Paul is a retired Island County Employee and retired Central Whidbey firefighter.

Cheryl Engle

Cheryl is a semi-retired School Teacher from the Coupeville School District.

Tom Smith

Chairman of the Board

Tom is a retired Washington State Trooper and also a retired Central Whidbey Fire Firefighter
